Utkarsh Global Foundation (formerly known as Utkarsh Star Mitra Mandal) works towards Environmental Protection through various initiatives. We conduct awareness programs to inspire and educate people towards environmental conservation. We are also in the forefront in the campaigns against plastic use titled “Say No to Plastic Bags” through awareness and implementation. We make cloth bags via the Women’s Empowerment Movement where we distribute cloth bags at zero costs towards our cause of environment protection.

Utkarsh is running an ‘Environmental Awareness Campaign’ in collaboration with Ministry of Environment, Government of Tamil Nadu. The prime goal of this campaign is to distribute about 2.5 crore cloth bags across the entire state of Tamil Nadu, covering around 32 districts and 12 municipal corporations. Its target is to abolish the plastic bags and to generate nationwide awareness about its detrimental effects on the environment. It also helped 5000 women by employing them in crafting and stitching of cloth bags.
